I'm a fine-art photographer with a penchant for classic cars, abandoned cemeteries and mid-century architecture.
I've lived in Sydney, Australia, where I studied design, 'hypnotized' a kangaroo whilst camping, love a good Lamington, and have tried Vegemite. I am goofy, sincere and can work wonders with a glue gun. I also have a website at www.jonelle.us (which I'm currently revamping).

My Interests

It's ALWAYS:

Travel, music, swing dancing, guys wearing converse all-stars, harvest moons, old cars, spontaneous roadtrips, cowboy hats (with or without the cowboy), tiki culture, Australia, Scotland and Ireland, layin' on the couch listening to someone play a guitar, exploring a forgotten cemetery (my favourite is Waverly), the sound of rain at night when I'm going to sleep, chocolate, a fire in the fireplace in the winter, or lying in the grass during the summer relaxing and listening to the birds chatter or a distant plane buzz by, a nice glass of Australian wine, or a smidge of fine whiskey, anything "a little bit country - a little bit ska-n-roll", antiques, thrift stores and garage sales........I'm an artist working mostly with a camera, I almost have my black belt in taekwondo, row on a crew team, know how to bellydance, love to laugh, and excel at being totally dorky. I have a naughty streak that I try to keep under control, and I make a mean curry..........I'm always up for meeting with friends and either cooking dinner or going out and attempting to act 'fabulous', evenings of music and anything that's vintage, retro or just plain kicks ASS!

I'd like to meet:

People who don't take themselves too seriously. Those who have a wicked sense of humour and can make me laugh. People who like to dress up to the nines, go out for cocktails pretending to be mature but act all goofy when no one is looking.Someone who wants to jump in a car and go on a road-trip to where ever the mood takes us. New friends who like to make their own fun and go on adventures and any other swelligant folks or other secret-squirrel types....

Music:

I like all the old new wave music pre-1985, old-school indie/alternative and original Brit-Pop 80's music plus ska, honkytonk, rockabilly, industrial/goth, do-wop, surf, punk, and old country. I love the Aussie band, the Church, plus bands like the English Beat, Split Enz/Neil and Tim Finn, Brian Ferry, Roxy Music, Deadbolt, Stereolab,Japan, Depeche Mode, the Cure, New Order, the Bats, Robyn Hitchcock, Gomez, Pixies, Echo and the Bunnymen, XTC, Dukes of Stratosphere, old REM, Hoodoo Gurus, Let's Active, Jackson Code, Peter Koppes, Marty Willson-Piper, Steve Kilbey, Radiohead, the Specials, China Crisis, Straightjacket Fits, Jack Frost, Bhagavad Guitars, Radio Birdman, Pete Yorn, Ed Kuepper, Comsat Angels, Dandy Warhols, Chris Isaak, Robert Earl Keene, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Stray Cats, Dwight, Go Cat Go, etc................Oh, and who could forget those hip cats: Hall-n-Oates? Served up with a side of Loverboy and some Neil Diamond. Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! ;o)

Movies:

Wings of Desire, Strictly Ballroom, LA Confidential, Big Fish, any 007, or Fellini, Princess Bride, any cinematography that makes my eyes happy, and most righteous movies like Spinal Tap, Austin Powers, the Big Tease, etc....

Television:

I'm a big fan of shows like: the Young Ones, Kids in the Hall, Old Startrek, Simpsons, Trailer Park Boys......Currently my favourite shows include: Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson - totally swelligant guy, SO gosh-durn funny!!! Also love the Closer - it's the best drama on TV, next to Neighbours!?! Oh, and I am now hooked on CSI: Miami (plus the rest of those CSI/Law-n-Order shows) and other cheesy shows you probably don't remember like the Six Million $ Man!I am also completely mesmerized by music videos since I don't have cable.
