In real life, I work as Legal Administrator at a non-profit global healthcare organization. In previous years I have worked as a Legal Assistant at an intellectual property law firm, and an IP Administrator at a biotech. I have done a whole lot of other jobs beforehand, mostly legal or biotech related for the both the private sector & the federal government. I am also an ordained minister in the Universal Life Church, and a notary public. I officiated at my first wedding in April of 2007.
I've participated in 3 marathon-type breast cancer walking events in the past, and in 2005 I completed the Seattle Danskin triathlon for the first time (a fund raiser for breast cancer), and the Reebok Triathlon (a fundraiser for ovarian cancer). I also finished the Seattle Half Marathon, and completed 3 triathlons (including the Danskin) in 2006. I have been a volunteer Work Out Leader for Team Danskin Training for the Danskin Triathlon 2006 - present. In 2007 I did not compete in the Danskin, but I was a swim angel for the event, which meant that I helped women who weren't very strong swimmers during that leg of the event. In late 2007 I also participated in the Subaru Super Sprint Triathlon on September 9th, and I ran and walked in the Nike Half Marathon in San Francisco on October 21st of 2007. I've started training for, and hope to complete the first Rock & Roll Marathon ever held in Seattle in 2009.
I sing, write songs have been performing this year with a newly re-formed version of Doll Squad. We played our first show in 20 some years on June 28, 2008. I have also been peforming a couple of reunion shows with Los Peligrosos, and we're talking about doing a few more shows in 2009. I also used to perform the Exene role in our side project, an X tribute band called Equis (which we resurrected at our last reuinon show.)
I've also appeared in four movies, two were straight to video ("Rock and Roll Mobster Girls" and "Attack of the Hideopoid"), and a scene of me taken from Rock and Roll Mobster Girls is in the movie "Hype."

I was also interviewed and featured in a KCTS/911 Media Arts Center New Voices short film entitled "Life in Storage." Back in the 1980s I was a dj on KCMU, where I went by the name of Helen Wheels. I also wrote and produced fine arts reviews (live theater and movies) for KCMU and their print magazine The Wire. Now I mainly write for my own amusement.
