About Me

THE ILLIANCE CONTEST WINNER VIDEO!!!
Interview with mic magazine: Your area is not the typical Hip Hop known area but what's goes on in your parts? It's like every other hood. You got the good part on one side of the tracks, but once you cross over, it's a whole different world. Out here, it's a little bit different than the city. We aint out on the block as much as them. Instead you're more likely to catch us at a house party, battling, or at the park, in a cypher. But that's a big misconception, that Long Island isn't a typical hip hop area. We brought a lot to the game if you think about it. Rakim, De Las Soul, EPMD, Busta Rhymes, and Public Enemy were all from out here. If it wasn't for them, I don't think Hip Hop would be where it is today, you know? The game as we know it has new sounds and new marketing steps. Is there any main thing you plan on focusing on? We plan on separating ourselves from everyone else in the industry. While they're doing snap records, we'll be doing us, and trade marking our sound. If youre making music to sound like someone else then you must not love this shit. You got to put your heart and soul into every song you make. As far as marketing, we plan on targeting every audience to prove that we can make tracks that can appeal to anyone. For example, We just dropped a "His and Hers" series of mix tapes. One of them is completely for the streets and the other one is completely for the ladies. What other rapper has put out a mix tape completely for the shawties? Its things like that which makes us different. We constantly try to find an empty market and take advantage of it. What projects have you dropped so far? We been in it for a minute, man. When we were 13 years old, we recorded our first mix tape ourselves. It was a self titled album featuring over 20 freestyles on industry instrumentals. After that, we hit the studio, and released another mix tape called i2, meaning "The iLLiance Part Two". That was then followed by In Debt Volume 1, The Best of the iLLiance, and In Debt Volume 2 and 3. What is the meaning behind your name? An alliance is a connection based on kinship, marriage, or common interest; a bond or tie. Well, through our common interest, music, we became a family. So we took that idea and flipped it. We made our name, The iLLiance, because the alliance between us is ill. We make up for each others weaknesses and compliment each others strong points. If there is one producer or artist you can work with who would that be? There are a lot of good producers out right now. Kanye West, Jus Blaze, Alchemist, Heatmakers, and all of those dudes are doing their thing. But we already established a relationship with a couple of up and coming producers; Alcatrakz, Pizzi, and Mysto - Who we know are the future of hip hop. We also feel more comfortable pursuing future ventures with these producers because they have been with us since day one. If we could work with any artist in the game, hands down, it would have to be Papoose. He brings a whole new dimension to the game with his lyrics and is consistently on his grind. We also feel like he might have the power to bring New York back to the top of Hip Hop. Man the game is changing with so many obstacles, what do you have planned to make your own name? Like we said before, we plan on separating ourselves from everyone else in the industry. The games changing, so our music has to change with it. You got to go with the flow or get left behind. If you don't keep improving, progressing and developing your music, then people are going to get tired of it. Everyones talking about getting in the door, but versatility is the key. If you dont have the key to the door, how are you going to get in? What do you definitely have to say in this interview? First of all, we want to give a big shot out to Rapha-El Daligheto, and the whole staff at Mic Magazine for the interview. We just want to tell yall to keep an eye out for us. In Debt Entertainment, The iLLiance, Sincere and Montana - Remember those names, Youre going to be hearing them a lot in the future! There's a bunch of up and coming projects in the works. You can find out about them online at either Www.myspace.com/TheiLLianceIsTheName or Www.Alcatrakz.com, Thanks for the support. We appreciate it. God bless & Holla back.
