A good manager can expand a recording artist career to its maximum potential, just as a bad one can rocket, in the recording artist into oblivion. When the job is done properly and professionally, then a manager becomes Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the recording artist career.

- Helping our recording artist in major cases decisions, such as deciding which record company to sign with, whether to make a publishing deal and how much to ask for.
- Helping our recording artist with creative process, such as selecting a producer, deciding which songs to record and selecting photographs.
- Promoting our recording artist career by hyping them to everyone we as a management team meet and helping them coordinate a publicity campaign.
- Assembling and heading our recording artist professional team by introducing them to entertainment lawyers, business managers, booking agents and overseeing these people's works.
- Coordinating our recording artist concert tours by working with their booking agent to make the best deals with promoters, routing the tour, working with their business manager to develop and implement a budget and assembling their road crew, supervising the road and tour managers to make sure everything runs smoothly.
- Pounding the record company by coordinating the record company's advertising and marketing campaign for our recording artist's music, making sure their music are treated as priorities, pressuring the record company when they do wrong and praising them when they do right.
- Generally being a buffer between our recording artist and the outside world, such as fielding inquiries for personal appearances, charitable requests and taking the rap for tough decisions that they make but don't want anyone to think they did.
