Songs like “Love Lost” and “Good Love Gone Bad” reflect that. There’s also a couple of exercises in escapism like “It Just Ain’t Me”, where I decided I was going to leave Sydney, drop out and re direct my mail to John Howard. “Tear it all Down”-A song about rebuilding the world, was written after I woke up from a dream. The words just fell out onto the page in one hit”++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++The album was written in some unusual spaces, an airport lounge in Cincinnati, a hotel room in Ohio, small writing rooms in Nashville, the subway in NYC, my house in Sydney.
