About Me

I started out in Kingston with my shitty downstairs make-shift studio, making beats and bothering my friends into making songs with me over them. Left Kingston for relationship reasons, fled to Banff.......holy shit Banff.......met some cats there, started up an open mic hip-hop night at Outta Bounds, met another dj who produced and ended up in this group called "number Jonnie Five" a fun crew who did all humourus tracks. We got pretty popular there, opening up for whatever big acts came through town, but i could only do funny tracks about fat chicks and jerkin-off for so long. Moved to Toronto for relationship reasons. Wow, there's a lot of haters here! Takes a while to meet people and get up and rolling, that's why it's only now in 06 I've got enough tracks and shows under my belt locally to start getting my name out. Trying to stay real, relevant, funny and sharp-witted while maintaining an element of funk ( or even soul have you).Shout to dj L.G., Sratchin Batchin, Rumplstiltz, UPS, Tokin Black, Mr.Matt, Skrelick and Lazy-boy, my man J.Chew, dj NANA and GooDKiD. Influences: I've got a serious Oakland Enriched funk leaning thanks to the likes of Heiro/pharcyde/digital/luniz/blackalicious, but am still very much swayed by the raw east coast stylings of boot camp/wu/kwest/native tongue too many to name really. For a while now I've been all about mf doom/quas/madlib/dilla they're just never disapointing and these days cosistancy is rare....But being the white boy that I am I gotta shout my folk and acid-rock roots--which naturally led to a funk obsession via motown thanks to my mom's musical tastes while raising me. Does that really explain it??
