Who knew a medievalist could rap?Green giants tourJust a little about me...I grew up in Washington DC and moved to Atlanta for College in 1996. I went to Morehouse and majored in Sociology and I minored in Psychology and religion. While in Atlanta I got into the underground music scene and we started our hip hop group - PROJECT LUMENS. Project Lumens is the collaborative effort of multiple musicians, painters, photographers, writers and thinkers. We were lucky enough to work with Binkis records, Mass Influence, Qualm Scott and Ahmen Kush, Beat Bullies, Killer Mike, Micronots, Stahr the Femcee, Liuns Den, and various other talented cats. We performed all over the city and recorded two mix tapes and an album. We worked closely with my man TONY - the best engineer ever. In 2001, I graduated and moved to New York City to begin graduate school at Columbia University (MA in Medieval Studies). My partner in music moved up a couple of months after I did, and we hit the streets with LUMENS. We started doing battles, open mics, and any featured performances we could get. On campus we had a radio show and TV show - giving us opportunities to run into some of the illest emcees....C Rays Walz, Aesop Rock, Talib Kweli, Rock Steady breakers...all types of cats. In 2003, I finished my course work and moved back to Washington DC. My partner, Aaron, stayed in NYC and we now do music in both cities. I book shows for DC and he books shows for NYC...we both travel up and down the east coast performing. We recently participated in the Subterranean All-Starz College tour that included Seez Mics, Flex Mathews, D.P.A., Dirty Water, Enjay, DJ Nasian, DJ Damu, DJ Cam One, and Abiola. We are currently in the process of making some new albums and starting up our own studio. I am into good food (I need recipies,) tattoos & piercings (i have both), music, books, and random crap.
