*** The Story of MOGLAH ***
For most people, Moglah is such a strange name. But folks in Japan call this guy Mog-san as his nickname. As a matter of fact, Moglah is a Japanese word for mole. Why do they call him mole, then? Because he digs into music, cultivates his musical skills and knowledge and most of all, he is just happy to be in the underground music scene!! The diversity of his unique music style stems from his upbringing in Saitama, Japan.
Born in 1971, Hideki Inoue grew up with his mom playing all kinds of music from The Beatles to KISS to Yellow Magic Orchestra. He picked up his first guitar at the age of 18 in the mid-80s, becoming a prisoner in the world of hard rock and heavy metal. He spent countless hours jamming with his mom, 2-piece style, in their small practice room. In 1992, Hideki made up his mind to explore America.
His destination was Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana where he studied art and began writing and recording his own music. In 1995, he relocated to Nashville, TN to attend Belmont University. Here he met a cast of characters, all of them musicians, and began to really hone his skills. As guitarist / multi-instrumentalist of local band, Methadone Actors, he experienced the U.S. indie scene. He began experimenting on his own with keytars, moog synthesizers, shortwave radios, kids toys and pretty much anything that made a sound. After the dissolve of the band in 1998, he continued his solo project and helped in founding pirate-rock band, Blimey with some of the ex-Actors.
In 1999, Hidekis visa expired which forced him back to Japan. For the next 6 years, he became what he had always rebelled against: the stereotypical Japanese businessman, working 15 hour days. In his very limited free time, he would continue recording in his apartment. In 2005, Hideki suffered a minor nervous breakdown which forced him to quit his job. Now, he was finally able to do what he always wanted; to focus on his music.
Hideki finally completed his amazing take on the classic Beatles album Revolver. It was recorded and mixed eleven times in seven years and exhibits it in a new light, melding classic rock and Japanese electronic music. He also decided that he would start a real rock band and this time he would keep it in the family. ( MOGSTARR * features Hidekis mom and wife.) They are currently in the woodshed and playing festivals around Japan.
Once, Hideki seemed to be dead but now he is about to have his musical renaissance. After 6 years of silence, Hideki, as Moglah, will appear in the fertile soil of music scene and now it is your turn to DIG the tunes from Moglah!! Hurry up and catch up!! Moglah is 15 hours ahead of you, surpassing the Pacific Ocean and the International Date Line; he will bring you fine music from the future!!
