The Greatest Thing You Will Ever Learn Is Just To Love And Be Loved In Return. I Am Young At Heart.

About Me

“Make me an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.”—St. Francis of Assisi
“Be someone who listens, and you will be heard. Be someone who cares, and you will be loved. Be someone who gives, and you will be blessed. Be someone who comforts, and you will know peace. Be someone who genuinely seeks to understand, and you will be wise. Be someone kind, someone considerate, and you will be admired. Be someone who values truth, and you will be respected. Be someone who takes action, and you will move life forward. Be someone who lifts others higher, and your life will be rich. Be someone filled with gratitude, and there will be no end to the things for which you'll be thankful. Be someone who lives with joy, with purpose, as your own light brightly shines. Be, in every moment, the special someone you are truly meant to be.”--Ralph Marston
“We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals….Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.” ~Albert Schweitzer, The Philosophy of Civilization
“If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men.” ~St. Francis of Assisi

I live in Western Washington with my husband and my three cats. We have a sailboat and enjoy sailing in the summer.
I enjoy making stained glass, rosaries, jewelry, fused glass and repousse. Being artistic gives me joy and satisfaction. Bringing happiness to others through my artwork, jewelry and rosaries makes it all worthwhile. I do have my own business and hope to expand it by participating in craft fairs and even starting my own website.
I love meeting new people but I am a bit shy. I do love to hear people’s stories and I am a very loyal friend. I am very compassionate and I am often the shoulder that people cry on. People tell me that I am overly sensitive. I don't know how to relate to indifferent people. I tend to be serious but I am always attracted to funny people.
I love animals and would really enjoy having a whole zoo of them. I have to stay away from the humane society because I know that I would come home with a car load of critters. I am very troubled by the mistreatment of animals-as my quotes and pictures reveal. The seal hunt horrifies me and I can’t believe that we are now killing wolves again.
I am insightful and love people. I try to really be there for my friends. I've been hurt many times so trust does not come easily for me. However, I still tend to put my heart on my sleeve. I guess that's why I get hurt. However, I also meet wonderful people--and you are probably one of them! I strive to be diplomatic and I love to learn. I am a very curious person—particularly about the subject of religion—all religions. I love a good debate (a friendly one). You can’t be in constant agreement with your friends and be real—unless you only surround yourself with people who always agree with you. I never want to do that.
I strive to allow people to be themselves and avoid forcing my opinions on other people. I am unlikely to confront people--even when they need it so dealing with confrontational or hostile people is difficult for me. I do strive to be compassionate and understand people rather than judge them.
I am a person who does not discriminate against others because of their race, orientation, heritage or religion--or lack of religion. I find intolerance in all of its' forms regarding religion, race and sexual orientation wrong and deeply disturbing. What happened to freedom of expression--for ALL?
I still call myself a Catholic but I don't agree with many of the churches teachings. The churches’ history is quite troubling to me—as is the use of the bible to manipulate, hurt and judge people. I embrace the messages of love, compassion and forgiveness but leave the rest behind. I believe that being spiritual is far more important than being religious. My beliefs have become a bit eclectic. I am in a place of questioning and searching. I believe that true faith is inclusive of all kinds of people (including people who don't agree with you) and that the ability to love is the true measure of a person’s spirituality. "The greatest thing that we will ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."
We are meant to enjoy life. "Life isn’t a dress rehearsal." We’re not here to judge and I want to be friends with all kinds of people from different walks of life.

I'd like to meet:

In general terms I'd like to meet spiritual people who are loving, compassionate, creative, open minded and inquisitive. I value loyal, loving people who aren't afraid to be real. I am attracted to people that are unique and step to the beat of a different drummer. I'm also attracted to funny people as they tend to be the comic relief from my darker side. I can be silly with them.

As for who I'd literally like to meet....Hmmmm. Focusing on famous people: Sebastien & Urs & David & Carlos of IL DIVO!!! Oprah, Alex O'Loughlin and Patrick Dempsey--but the truth is that I am shy and would probably chicken out if I had an opportunity to meet any of these people. People who are impossible (in this life) to meet include Jesus, Ghandi, John & Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King.
