Minneapolis rock n' roll band The Fillmores died suddenly and peacefully on the evening of Thursday January 3rd, 2008 in their Nicollet Avenue rehearsal space. The Fillmores are best known for playing their hit song "East Bank Gurls" during a Ramones tribute show in 2004 and for performing on a boat once. The five-piece band are preceded in death by recently deceased Minneapolis bands Public Displays of Infection, The Please Don't Hurt Me, Black Strap, Grickle Grass and Dangerboy and the Road Vultures. They are survived by former members Harper Zwicky and Neil Pederson. Loved by twenty-three, hated by nine, and ignored by millions, The Fillmores always attempted to show their audience a good time, even if they weren't showing their audience a good band. From their early days in basements to their later days in bars, their five-year career brought smiles to the drunken faces that were kind enough to show up. The Fillmores will be sorely missed.Funeral arrangements are scheduled for …Friday February 15th @ the Zombie House in SE Minneapolis. Please make memorials in the form of drinks for Trevor, Damien, and Mike.
