About Me
K.o. Originally born in Trinidad and Tobago, Kellyann and Sallyann of K.O. born as Eugenia Kellyann Lares and Antonia Sallyann Lares began singing in their school choir and in calypso competitions. Singing in their home, they would put together and act out routines. Their mother would invite friends and family over for the performances, which the girls would be paid for. They would sing anything from calypso, soca, chutney, reggae, and r&b. They performed in school, at weddings, and in competitions. Soon after, the girls were told by their parents that they were going to the USA. They said to themselves, This is it! In America were are going to become stars! While in school, Kellyann put together a group which, she found, wouldnt go well because of her love for sports including track, tennis, and weight lifting. After graduating high school, Kellyann focused on getting back into music. This time she was serious , she started writing songs upon songs. On the other side, her sister Sallyann attended dance classes on the weekends, which was a school program. She would sing out in classes, consequently making everyone think she was nuts, but she knew what she was destined to be. After a few years Sallyann walked in on Kellyann singing one of the songs she had written she joined in, resulting in the formation of K.O. Sallyanns inspirations include Soul For Real, Brandy, Mary J Blidge, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston. Kellyann is inspired by Pattie Labelle, Celine Dion, Steve Wonder, Jodeci, Boys, To Men, and 50 Cent, beres hammond, third eye blind, match box twenty They now perform in community events and jazz clubs.
