Before reaching the age of twenty-seven, Mann J had been under the radar, on the verge and marked for success as one of the most innovative entrepreneurs in Hip-Hop. Whether it be through his clothing line and/or non-profit organization, Johnson is determined to make a wave in the quality of the urban lifestyle.Starting out as an Elementary Education Major at Maryland's Prince George's Community College in the Fall of 1996, Johnson's "go out and make it happen NOW" attitude prompted him to leave school to self-educate himself on the needs of his urban community - Leadership and Entrepreneurship.In 2001, Johnson emerged as the owner and designer for couture line, Nyjai Camaree (Beautiful Black Princess)-a line developed to cater to women of color in addition to their various shapes and sizes. Johnson's urban contemporary line can be found in upscale boutiques throughout the Washington Metropolitian Area. Pioneering rapper Mc Lyte has been seen endorsing the line. The DC area cable company, Comcast, has also featured Nyjai Camaree and 1 Famlee on their local access show,"Young Entreprenuers".Addressing community concerns head-on has always been deeply rooted in Johnson. He even showed leadership abilities as a student at Laurel High School by serving as a Peer Mediator for the issues his fellow students faced during the day to day rigors of school. Johnson wears a lot of hats and 1 Famlee Entertainment Group will no doubt be a success in the music industry. Johnson has worked with various artists such as MBF, Manotti Streets, Nappy Roots, and Tef of Roc City Records, to name a few.Additionally, Johnson has been working behind the scenes for the past four years with radio personality Jeannie Jones of WKYS 93.9FM (DC's number one station for Hip-Hop and R&B). He has also been working closely with New York's own MBF; and says "Watch out this guy can change the face of Hip Hop". You can find MBF on various mix-tapes including but not limited to TVT and JailBreak Recordz, FunkMaster Flex Unsigned Talent CD/DVD (shoutout to TatWza and Trecia on that project), and his own, Upstart 2: Carry on Tradition.Keep an eye out for the "Luv 4 Kidz Celebrity Charitable Basketball Game", its sure to be an annual success.
