My Interests

~ABOUT NATE BERKUS & ASSOCIATES~

Nate Berkus founded Nate Berkus Associates in 1995. With a passion for the industry and a trademark perspective on design, Nate has made an indelible mark on the interior decorating world and has brought together a group of talented designers that broadens the company's scope of work.

Nate Berkus Associates now employs a group of designers, each bringing their unique aesthetic to the firm. Their goal for every project is to encapsulate the client's own style through a process of exposure, education and creativity. The team at Nate Berkus Associates values the importance of listening to their clients. In turn, each project becomes a sensory adventure undertaken by both client and designer.

It is imperative to Nate Berkus Associates that their clients identify with their environment and as a result, become comfortable in their finished project. This principal philosophy of understanding leading to contentment is what sets Nate Berkus Associates apart.

~ABOUT INSPIRATION~

My influence and fascination with cultural arts from around the world, along with an appreciation for fine craftsmanship and handwork, combined with a passion for travel, have inspired the very essence and core of the collection. It is not simply the way things look and feel, but how the experience imprints a memory – a special scent, wonderful fabric idea or fine detail. I have tried to translate that spirit and soul into the line. What feels good to have around the place? How can you treat yourself to a welcoming home? The idea of living graciously has always been important to me. It is one of the best investments you can make in your well-being. You don’t just live in a home, you learn to live with it and experience its warmth and character on every level. Every day.

I like everything from Classical, Pop, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Rock and Country

Books:

I hope you’ll think of each page of “Home Rules” as an appointment with me. Every chapter is laid out, room by room, to help you along the design path. Throughout the book we’ll experiment together, head to the paint store, clean house with some great organization tips and visit every “I can do that” tip and suggestion I could squeeze between the covers. We’ll talk “instant makeover” ideas – a quick change of your accessories, layers of bedding possibilities sure to wake up the bedroom, certain curtain and window treatments that can open your mind to a whole new view. I’ll share my philosophy on living well and hope that our visit together inspires you to live well too.

Heroes:

My mom, and Fernando Bengoechea.
