About Me

Most of what I would say here is covered in all the other boxes: I'm the nicest guy you'll have the pleasure to meet. Ask anyone...really. Go ahead and ask them. Pick anyone on my friends list that has actually met me and they'll tell you that I'm damn near a saint. I'm a falconer. I spent 12 years serving Queen and Country in the 78th Fraser's Highland Regiment. I've traveled a lot, mostly to Pakistan. I've been traveling there since 1994 and I lived there for a year.I've lived in 17 countries. They're on the map below. I'm pretty good at learning languages.I'm conversational in 7 or so. I'm half Italian and half Scottish, but the red beard comes from the Italian side. I have a degree in Anthropology. I fly falcons for bird abatement at Airports and at Landfills, and I sell falconry supplies, so if you need a perch or a hood or some bells, take a look at www.frugalfalconer.com . I'm a bit of a car nut. I have an '82 Fiat Spider 2000 that I've been restoring for a while, but I grew up restoring AMX's, Javelins, SCramblers & Hornets. My family are all Presbyterians and I converted to Islam in January of 95. I like photography. I used to be a fashion photographer, but now I just shoot stuff for my own amusement. I'm color blind, so I only shoot black and white because thats all I can process. I like Fencing and Polo but I haven't done either in a long time. If you want to know anything else, just ask...

Television:

I only make time for LOST.... and have been enjoying late night TVLAND where all the shows of my youth are re-run.

Books:

Yes, I read. I don't even have a favorite genre. I read everything. I'm really fond of Tony Hillerman's Murder Mysteries. I like Leon Uris and Trevanian. Robert Young Pelton's journalistic style is very good and readable, especially his autobiography, "The Adventurist". I love reading political satire: Micheal Moore, James Carville, Al Franken, and Noam Chomsky. I like more serious political work aswell: Richard Clark, Robert Baer, Bob Woodward,Tariq Ali, Douglas Farah, and the anonymous writer of "Imperial Hubris". I read every falconry related thing published, from really heavy avian medical books to light kids books like "My Side of the Mountain", to falconry manuals of all kinds. I like the poetry of William Blake, Robert Burns, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Edgar Allan Poe, Rudyard Kipling, Robert Frost, D.H. Lawrence, and Ezra Pound. I'm a big Kipling fan in general, not just his poetry but also his short stories. I've left a lot out, but that's a good starter colection of my tastes in litterature.

Captain Sir Richard Francis Burton, T.E. Lawrence, Albert Einstien, Mahatma Mohandes Ghandi,Quaid I Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Heinz Meng, Fredrick II, Rudyard Kipling, Ben Franklin, King Abdullah, Sheikh Zahid, J.K. Rowling
