I was first exsposed to it when i first saw my older brother djing and having people in the house just spinning,mc-ing,breakdancing, basiclly living the hip hop lifestyle. I was hooked since...
I also had a cousin by the name of Dj Wize, who was out in Freeport long island, and which was a big influence to me. He was doing his thing with the mixtape game out there. me and my twin brother would always take trips to longisland and see him. Whenever we got the chance to touch the turntables we would be on them all day non stop going at it having battles between us and all that.
So then i actually moved out to long island at the age of 14 and just basically went everywhere with my cousin, local parties , all the record stores around new york,(mainly rock-n-soul, fat beats, VP records, and house of hits)Then I basically went into my own zone at the age of 17 living out in suffolk longisland. just practicing all day and just really became one of the most feared battle djs. ive been in battles all up and down the east coast from (winter music conference 3 years in a row in miami, technic DMC battle in manhattan twice and boston once, guitar centers spin off 3 yrs in a row, hot 97 local dj battles, platinum hitz battle in river head, abracadabra in store battles, and so many more.)
while i was battling i got influenced into the club scene at the age of 18 and some how i linked up with a promoter named cj kryptonite . at that time he was one of the strongest club promoters in the game. he reconized my talent and had me djing at local clubs throughout longisland.from there i focused on all my club skills using Vinyl since the age of 11.. from there i linked up with one of the most influencial promoters(KID PANIC) he was everywhere and had the crazies parties going he had me djing everywhere. From queens to manhattan , but mainly longisland... I then started linking up with promoters from everwhere,shout out to all the promoters that put me on(cj, kid panic, johny blaze, chris f, Billy A, Mike e, Tim L, Alista, Pete and Jimmy (www.tobeexclusive.com), Augie, LA (www.strongisland.com), madd matt, tony Neo, bobby goodrich, brandon, sammy and ralph (members only), heavy hitters, 12-inch assasins, alldaypromo team, eric soler, Vinny floodtheclub.com, Scratch academy,and whoever else i forgot im sorry.
Also im gonna throw a big shout out to al-fredo because he played a major part on helping me hustle out there with the mix tape scene.
basically now im just doing my own thing trying to work on my record label/ dj crew called " Decoy Music/ Turntablist takeover ", also working on mixes all day i have over 1500 different mash -ups that ive created( and still going). im still djing clubs all over from ybor city in FL to Miami to North carolina to Vegas new jersey , conneticut, boston and all over newyork(manhattan, hamptons). check for me near you ... you can also check me out broadcasting my radio show at www.strongisland.com check for it its insane(check for me on 101.7(the beach).......heres a list of all the clubs that ive Dj'd at throughout my career..
