Sounds Like: The Klappers, modernized old rock’n’roll. They place an emphasis on slick guitar riffs and a husky vocal style. From this point of view, a part of the gene of Captain Beefheart or The La’s was inherited by The Klappers with no doubt. A lot of the crowd were dancing to their music, so I realized one thing again; you don’t have to play a 4 on the floor to get people dancing. They seemed to have confidence in their style as not only as rock dudes, but also as great entertainers. (review from the Keith gig.jabez clegg)The Klappers
The Witchwood
Ashton-Under-Lyne

organised by Speechless with SoundThe first thing you notice about The Witchwood in Ashton is how incredibly cold it is. By the end, I was actually spasming with shivering fits.
The best band to hit the stage are The Klappers(****), and they bring an impressive fan base who know every word to every song. It isn't hard to understand why, however, as all songs are catchy and have memorable melodies that stick in your head. They also manage to switch vocalists very smoothly – especially between guitarists, while still retaining the solid image of a frontman in Phil Faulds.
