About Me

I've decided that this My Space bio should be a whole lot less formal and a whole lot more down-to-earth. What can I say? My life is about more than what I've done or not done in the music industry. But I love music and writing music. I've had some small successes like getting placements on TV and DVD home releases (Joan of Arcadia, Dawson's Creek), and won some awards and been nominated for things. I've toured by myself from Campbell River, BC to the Maritimes. (For the non-Canadians reading this, that is a really long way to go by car). My songs are still getting played on the radio and selling through CD Baby. I've been some places, met some people, had great reviews. I've able to represent World Vision and see some kids get sponsored at my concerts...I've also been hit by a semi truck head-on on the TransCanada Hwy and survived. This thwarted my plans musically and threw me into a painful and frustrating year. But there's something about having a dream. Everyone talks about pursuing a dream (I have too), but my dream pursues me. I can't imagine doing anything else, even though some days I'm not quite sure what I'm doing! Even when the pressure hits and I can't see straight, the dream is there, in my heart, nudging me to keep going. There are songs in me that need to be written...So I keep going in this crazy music business, unashamedly working as a substitute to keep a roof over my head. I'm living in Winnipeg and taking the summer to write toward a new project. And on the non-musical side, I am contemplative and passionate. I love long walks and Thai food. I have a nephew who is the centre of the Universe as far as I'm concerned. I have a little condo in a quaint part of the city. Part of my heart lives in Scotland and another part in North Western France and I can't wait to go back to both places. I wonder how my life will play out in the grand scheme of things, but for the most part, I'm happy.
