About Me

RON ATHEY website

"Terror unendingly renews with advancing age. Without end, it returns us to the beginning. The beginning that I glimpse on the edge of the grave is the pig in me which neither death nor insult can kill. Terror on the edge of the grave is divine and I sink into the terror whose child I am." --Georges Bataille, My Mother

Well, don't have a TV but have OZ series on DVD. Guilty pleasure: get overstimulated watching Buffy re-reruns on hotel TV when travelling.

Books:

Bit of a Francophile with Georges Bataille, Jean Genet, Roland Barthes, Andre Gide, Camus (both Albert & Renaud), Celine, etc. Also sick and queer classics like Burroughs, Baldwin, Acker, Winterson, DeLillo. Amelia Jones, Susan Sontag, Patrick Califia. I hyperventilate through good biographies and scan theory.

Heroes:

David Wojnarowicz, Pierre Molinier, Johanna Went, Felix Gonzalez Torres, VALIE EXPORT, Jean Genet
