.. About me....I was raised in a music and art family, my dad is a sculptor along with my Aunt, she is also an incredible painter, they both were professors in their field at various universities. We lived in Kalamazoo, MI from 1961 to 1973, so the music from Motown was huge in my life and it is ingrained into my soul (no pun intended) today and forever. My brother is a musician, his wife has an incredible voice, he helps produce her stuff but he's also a VP for an indie label. In my late teens I worked at a variety of small records stores, Globe Records and Bay Records then in my early 20's I was a buyer for the Rock section at Tower Records, I worked directly with the label reps basically they'd ask me to give their new artist's LP (yes it was albums then) some turn table time in the store to help promote the latest sound and artists, of course I did and this lead to great friendships and great perks such as; front row tickets or back stage passes to shows, invited to exclusive parties, etc.
| View Show | Create Your OwnThe Tower job led me to a position at MTV (back with the original VJ's), lots of fun story's about those days..the people I've met, the fun we had. The last MTV party I attended was our Christmas bash held at Windows on the World in the World Trade Center. Here is the original invitation. After that I had my first daughter, which led me away from that world, I moved to New England (where my parents lived at the time) and started working for Rhode Island School of Design, if you know the art world, you'd know RISD! I worked for the Head of the Architecture Department, which lead to working for the architect who designed the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC, very cool, also working at RISD (it's a very international college) I met people from all over the world, became friends and was invited to visit them in their countries, so far I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing , Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Germany, so many more places I'd like to see yet, guess I‘ll have to hit the lottery soon so I can! Also while working at RISD I had my second daughter, and yes there was love, relationships, marriage/divorces involved with both of these priceless girls, no regrets, well….a few…anyway, life’s to short for that! Humor has been my saving grace through out lives trials and tribulations, and I always try to find something funny to laugh about even in the worse situations. I recently left Rhode Island for a new adventure and to experience another part of the US so here I am in South Carolina. I started this to stay in touch with my oldest daughter, and I've since connected with some old friends and have met some new and interesting people on here as well, so if you're a reasonably sane and kind individual with some of the same interest (or not) send me a hello, you never know, we just might know some of the same people, the world is a small place in deed!
