I'm a city girl at heart - nothing puts me to sleep better than the sounds of the city. I can relax out in the country - but too much of that quiet is likely to make me lose my mind. I am an eclectic person - so I'm not sure how to sum myself up in a tiny little box with a pretty bow on top. Maybe some of the other categories will fill more in

My Interests

I love politics! I love reading, mostly non-fiction. Anything about politics, history, etc. The only fiction that is REALLY a guilty pleasure for me is Anne Rice, probably because her stories are usually in a historical context they suck me in.

As I briefly mentioned history above, it is one thing I love. I am a card caring MN Historical Society member and the girls and I love visiting museums and historical sites. Its actually really inexpensive and we've used it a lot more than I thought we would. I live close to art museums which are fun places to wander through as well.

I'm not all that serious, though it may seem like it from what I've written so far. I laugh a lot - mostly at life, myself, or my kids! Life is too short not to!One of the best Spoken Word Artists EVER! Taalam Acey

I'd like to meet:

I AM NOT ON HERE LOOKING TO GET LAID! If you send rude, suggestive, or explicit messages to me - you will be blocked. I have a man and am NOT lookin for a replacement!!!

There is no mistaking love. You feel it in your heart. It is the common fiber of life, the flame that heats our soul, energizes our spirit and supplies passion to our lives. It is our connection to God and to each other.
People who turn me off:
Intolerant, racist, homophobic
Lack empathy
Uninvolved in the world around them
Greedy, selfish, egocentric
Spoiled brats

I'd like to meet true progressives and people who really care about working towards bettering their communities, cities, states, country and world!!!
CHECK OUT MY FRIENDS' PAGES - YOU JUST MAY STUMBLE UPON SOMETHING AMAZING!!!!!!!

Music:

I have an eclectic taste in music, though it never hurts to expand even more. Hip-hop, R&B and Soul are probably my first loves. Look through my friends list, I have some of my favs saved!!!

OBAMA VIDEOS - If you don't already know, now ya know! lol....

Television:

I watch movies but I don't watch TV - every minute watching it is a minute spent not living!

Books:

Books I'm currently reading: Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen (first Novel I've read in awhile - good so far!)

Books I've read recently:
Peace Not Apartheid by Jimmy Carter (VERY good and informative!)
A Hand to Guide Me by Denzel Washington
Introducing Your Kids to the Outdoors by Christopher Van Tilburg, M.D.
Dreams from my Father by Barack Obama,
Our Endangered Values: America's Moral Crisis by former President Jimmy Carter,
The Truth with Jokes by Al Franken,
F.U.B.A.R. by Sam Seder,
Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt by Anne Rice,
How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization by Thomas E. Woods, Jr., Ph.D.,
A book I love, because its full of short stories which are better for a busy life, is Children of the Dream.

Heroes:

Anyone who has overcome adversity to become a better and stronger person. Also, Mother Teresa, MLK Jr., JFK, Jimmy Carter, and many, many more who have worked to make this a better country, a better world and to do God's work of love and charity.

"We are Americans and in our America, we do not torture, we do not imprison people without legal recourse, and we do not give any president unchecked power. Congress must act quickly to rein in this over-reaching president and overturn these un-American acts." --Barack Obama
