Started by Big Iggz and Soul Heir, Check & Balance is a hip hop amalgam of nine artists with a wide array of styles and talents. The collective came to fruition around 2005 when Soul Heir and Iggz, students at the same production/recording school, found they shared a zeal for all things HIP HOP. Wanting to collaborate with any and all types of adept rap artists and producers; the two set out working/honing their skills and building a liaison with various hip hop personnel.Through the building and networking Check & Balance has evolved into a collective of Producers, MC’s, and Engineers which now includes: Nemacis, Brando, Prizm, Tigre Cole, Word FTS, Cozy, and The Drum Productions. Each member is sharp with their crafts and talents.NEMACIS - Lyricist/Producer with a low, full toned voice and a rapid fire flow.BRANDO - DJ/Producer who has an ear for off beat sounds and deep bass rhythms.PRIZM - Poetic MC with a pied piper style that steals ears.TIGRE COLE - Rapper/Producer who has an uncanny knack for flipping drum samples and trenchant rhymes.WORD FTS - Passionate MC with grit in his voice and a rap method that captures your attention.COZY - Producer/Engineer who captures that “golden era†sound while utilizing his deep working knowledge of music and computer equipment.THE DRUM PRODUCTIONS – Producer who laces contemporary rhythms with finesse that is both captivating and provocative.BIG IGGZ – Producer/Engineer with the ear of a veteran when it comes to arranging the music and adding key elements/sounds.SOUL HEIR – Engineer/Producer with a next generation sound and a distinct, almost magician like way, of chopping/playing samples.
