About Me

Hm my profile keeps disappearing. I had one that talked about asteroids. Ah well. Here is my new provisional profile. I absorb complex molecules and excrete simpler ones. I operate in one G but like many overcome this in dreams from time to time. I process information in sub-second quanta and often manage this with my watch, which helpfully says TIME in big letters. But I am always short of time, which is why I don't go to many gigs my lovely friends tell me about. I love music but there is too much of it. I love art but often the context is better than the art itself. What do I mean by context here? I can answer that question. This is Herb, reporting on myspace, London May 2007.

My Interests

Loads of things. Like skyscrapers and languages and reduced-to-clear and the Kuiper Belt. But not sports or cars. I hate cars.

I'd like to meet:

Why should I want to meet anyone? I spend my life avoiding people!

Music:

Indie (07 update: Arctics to Clap Your Hands but LIVE ooh see the DeBretts!!) Always love The Beatles and Motown especially Martha R. Loads of stuff I could mention like Smiths and Cure and My Bloody Valentine and haha the Bangles! Also Barber's Addagio for Strings and Billie Holiday & Anita O'Day. Liked a Peruvian fellow playing mountain flutes in Covent Garden one day, I remember.

Movies:

I like films in foreign languages, like Der Amerikanische Freund (actually that had a lot of English in it) or Aki Kaurismki stuff or (okay this is a bit obvious) Amelie. I prefer 2001:A Space Odyssey to Star Wars, or Dog Day Afternoon to Shaft, or Philip Marlowe to James Bond. My favourite b/w ones are Some Like It Hot and A Hard Days Night and Lukas Moodysson's Container. I'll have to think about what my fave technicolor films are... maybe Liquid Sky...

Television:

Yes I have one of those.

Books:

I thought the Yellow Pages got a bit samey after the letter F. Then I wrote 'London High'.

Heroes:
