I am what I am

About Me

I enjoy pushing peoples perceptions and looking on the darker side of life, it tends to be more interesting. I have the good fortune to have some very intelligent and interesting people who I can call my friends, and hopefully will meet many more as time goes by. I've bounced around a lot in my life and lived through a lot of interesting times and seemt o have come out relatively intact. I try to experience everything I can - life is here to be savoured, not suffered. I don't have a lot of time for people who try and impose their beliefs on everyone else - I think there is room on this planet for everyone to have their own point of view even if I don't agree with it. I love good food, its one of lifes most basic pleasures. I like people who have the strength to dress and act the way they want, instead of conforming to everyone around them. Its not about being "different" its about being who you are happy being. I think too many people are trying to do what they think they should instead of what they actually want.

My Interests

Listening to music, getting to know people, martial arts, ranting about pretty much anything, hanging out with friends, writing, sketching, talking about art, science, history, philosophy or anything else that catches my interest, living in the world within my head.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who has something interesting to say, who takes the time to think about what is happening around them and form their own opinions. I like meeting people and seeing what variety the human genome is capable of producing. I like opinionated people who can argue with me, and people who will call bullshit on me when appropriate.

Music:

Type O Negative, My Dying Bride, Dimmu Borgir, Nightwish, Cathedral, Steeleye Span, The Pogues, Christian Death, Velvet Acid Christ, The Sins of thy Beloved, Bolt Thrower, System of a Down, Tool, Disturbed, Fear Factory, Chimaira, Hanzel und Gretyl, Skinny Puppy, Pzychobitch, Wumpscut, Genitorturers, Korn, Prodigy, Rammstein, Razed in Black, Corrosion of Confirmity, Violent Femmes, Black Flag, Butthole Surfers, Linkin Park, Ministry, Kompressor, KNFDM, MDFMK, In Slaughter Natives, Frontline Assembly, Aphex Twin, Offspring, Static-X, Megadeth, Napalm Death, Carcass, Pantera, Tristania, Switchblade Symphony, Sorrow, Slipknot, London After Midnight, Death in June, Skuldom, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, Clannad, Behemoth, Meshuggah, Cannibal Corpse, Death, Deicide, Opeth, The Amenta, Watain, Vesperian Sorrow, Covenant, The Kovenant, Necrophagia, Hecate Enthroned, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, End this day, Emperor, Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom, Ablaze my Sorrow, Iron Maiden, Godsmack, Biohazard, NIN, Sepultura, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Anthrax, 8 Foot Sativa, Rob Zombie, White Zombie, Daemonarch, Dark Funeral, Bathory, Missing Teeth, Husker Du, Misfits, Gomorrah, Judas Priest, Deceased, Combichrist, Angerfist, Amduscia, Agonoize, God Module, Retractor, Aslan Faction, Novakill, Assemblage 23, Error, Funker Vogt, Painbastard, Panzer AG, Rotersand, S.I.N.A, The Azoic...

Movies:

Oh so many. Anything thought provoking, dark, dirty, vicious and heavy on the sex and violence. Irony appeals big time.

Television:

CSI, SVU, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Zim etc. I try to avoid watching TV as much as possible.

Books:

Anything that makes me think, anything with a serious dose of escapism and any pulp horror that is graphic enough to make conservative people want to burn it. Historical books - knowing where you are going requries an understanding of where you come from.Greg Bear, Orson Scott Card, Mo Hayder, Graham Masterton, Richard Laymon, Dan Simmons, Bill Bryson, Bently Little, Chris Curry, James Patterson, Raymond E Feist, Karin Slaughter and Thomas Harris are good for a fiction read. The Michael Baigent/Ricahrd Leigh series (Holy Blood & the Hoy Grail, Dead Sea Scrolls Deception etc) are great. Fingerprints of the Gods by Graham Hancock is well worth delving into. The John (Jack) Douglas series (Mindhunter, The Psychology of Obsession etc) cowritten by Mark Olshaker showcasing the inside of the FBI's Investigative Support unit are awesome. True crime at its best.

Heroes:

Anyone who has the vision to raise their head and object to the status quo, and the courage to fight to bring forth their dreams. Those who understand that seeking your hearts desire is our highest goal, and settling for what we can achieve easily is only cheating ourselves.

My Blog

Fucken ouch

Interesting week. I should be shitty as, but I'm not.  Cute Grrrl seems to be extremely good for my head as I am and seem to be remaining fairly level. I should be screaming for vengeance....&nbs...

Self control and other illusions

This has been an intensely interesting couple of weeks.  Lots of hanging out with some very very cool people, far too much drinking and socialising until the wee hours, and absolutely no regrets ...

Banking is theft and other issues at the petrol station

Two days setting this up - massive exodus in the middle 36 hours for a random evening with Eon, Za and Ragdoll.  Almost needed to have something to occupy myself today while in recovery mode so ...
