Making music, listening to music, reading good books, writing, sitting on my big behind...like right now, anthropology/sociology...it's so fascinating to see how we're all connected, and how we're all different, trying to push our country (and world) FORWARD....as in trying to get rid of racism, homophobia, xenophobia, unnecessary economic inequality, war, hunger, HIV/AIDS, and all the rest of that stuff that makes our world worse than it needs to be. I really think that if we all just gave enough of a damn about oneanother, we would be a lot better off. I'm interested in cuddling, exploring cities, warm walks in green places, good food...cooking it, eating it, and sharing it with other people, dancing, spending time with my friends, and meeting new ones. Oh, and I'm also interested in you!

I need my funk, jazz, reggae, blues, folk, motown, soul, rock n' roll, country, swing, conscious rap, techno, trip-hop, 90's sugar music, 90's hip hop, doo-wop, be-bop, old rap (as in The Sugar Hill Gang), and world. If it's good, I'll listen to it. To quote the O'Jays, "I love music, any kind of music. I love music, just as long as it's groovy."

I think continually of those who were truly great. Who, from the womb, remembered the soul’s history Through corridors of light where the hours are suns Endless and singing. Whose lovely ambition Was all that their lips still touched with fire, Should tell of the Spirit clothed from head to foot in song. And who hoarded from the Spring branches The desires falling across their bodies like blossoms. What is precious is never great to forget The essential delight of the blood drawn from ageless springs Breaking through rocks in worlds before our earth. Never to deny its pleasure in the morning simple light Nor its grave evening demand for love. Never to allow gradually the traffic to smother With noise and fog the flowering of the spirit.Near the snow, near the sun, in the highest fields See how these names are feted by the waving grass And by the streamers of white cloud And whispers of wind in the listening sky. The names of those who in their lives fought for life Who wore at their hearts the fire’s center. Born of the sun they traveled a short while towards the sun, And left the vivid air signed with their honor.-Stephen Spender
