Tarrah Reynolds began taking violin lessons through the public school system at the age of seven. By twelve, she had made her solo debut with a major symphony orchestra. She went on to win numerous awards and competitions, both local and national, before entering The Juilliard School at age seventeen. While attending Juilliard, Tarrah had the great fortune of studying violin and chamber music with world-reknown teachers.Presently, Tarrah plays violin with well-known local artists Si*Se, JuCa, Imani Uzuri, Maya Azucena, and Tamar-Kali. She has also played with/recorded for major artists Kanye West, Jay-Z, The Gorillaz, Lalah Hathaway, Maxwell, Oleta Adams, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, The Clark Sisters, Donnie McClurkin, and several others.
Some people are surprised to find out Tarrah has been writing songs and playing guitar! Athough she is new to the singer/songwriting scene, Tarrah has gained much respect as a songwriter. She has often been compared to artists such as Phoebe Snow, Joni Mitchell, and Tracy Chapman, but due to her unique self-taught style of fingerpicking and use of alternate tunings, Tarrah's music is always unpredictable and challenging to the listener.
