My immediate interest is sweet TnT making it pass their first world cup game. Besides that the usual, peace, justice, end to hunger, global debt, foriegn and domestic policy, my family, shoes and pick-ups for acoustic instruments.

the Mars Volta is still the most interesting group playing "rock and roll" right now. I'm still waiting to collaborate with them. Promises have come but things haven't happened. I also love Rocksteady probably more than any other music. I grew up figuring out bass lines and rocking through life. After rocksteady I love in no particular order Burning Spear, Brahms, Beethoven, Saint Saens, ELgar, Siebelius, anything Hoarace Andy (he even helped me tolerate Massive Attack), Moody Man, Oshunlade, anything POLO of La Famiglia touches, Portishead, Sizzla on Bone Crusher riddim, Fela, The CLash, Nickodemus and Osiris, Pushakey, Sam, AL Green, Sade, Stones, Tribe, RHCP (even if that's embarrassing at this stage in my life)Heptones, Red Plastic Bag, and Ill continue some other night.
I've seen "the Harder They Come" and "Heathers" more times than anyone should ever see a movie. I'd be willing to see them again. "Life and Debt"is also another favourite. Every bloody tourist should see it. "Dancehall Queen", "Rockers", "Clue", "A Bronx Tale", "Dog Day Afternoon", "Pootie Tang", anything where Reece Witherspoon plays a bitch (hollywood term...not one I personally use to describe women), anything Parker Posie plays a bitch in, anything by Sembene from Senegal, are all things that I can be convinced to see anytime anywhere. But what does it matter, it's not like anyone reads this anyway.
Oscar Zeta Acosta...read him the next time you go on a road trip. One of my favourite writers. "The Coldest Winter Ever" by Sistah Souljah (remember her!), "Born Fi Dead", anything Chekov.
