About Me

An accomplished singer and dancer, Stephanie Battle has performed with the dance and theatre group, Urban Bush Women, graced the Broadway stage in The Lion King and most recently finished a European tour of The Temptation of St. Anthony at The Paris Opera House. Stephanie has performed and recorded with DJ Kalim Shabazz, Carl Hancock Rux, Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon of Sweet Honey in the Rock and Toshi Reagon to name a few. Inspired by this eclectic mix of experiences, Stephanie brings you "Battlegroove"...a juicy blend, bringing together the sounds and styles of Bjork, Cree Summer, Jeff Buckley and Erykah Badu. Mind-bending lyrics, sweet harmonies and instrumentals create ambient textures and take you along for a ride. Battlegroove aspires to inspire and to tune you in to her station of communication.
