About Me

When I was eleven or so, I decided that I wanted to be an artist (it seemed like a good idea at the time).
I'm based in London town and draw on the city among many other things for inspiration. As an art form in its own right, Cinema for example has woven its way into our own unique perceptions of the world we inhabit. Our familiar notions of reality are influenced by what we consume and digest from beguiling images on cinema and television screens. My work as a painter owes a great deal to film for its inspiration and visual language, but above all it is about my love of painting.
My paintings depict fragments of stories – frozen narratives with an ambiguous prelude and uncertain conclusion. These events are played out against many different backdrops from the vast arena of the metropolis to transitory locations on roads and rural byways – paths leading to distant, inscrutable prospects.
