About Me

I'm an artist. I love to take a blank white canvas and turn it into something worth looking at...something more than what it was. I'm also a musician. I currently play the piano and the guitar, and I love to sing. My biggest dream is to someday take my guitar and paints and move to Italy for a few years. My family is everything to me and my siblings are my best friends. I'm a very passionate person (although, some people would use the word "stubborn"), especially when it comes to the things I love and believe in. In a group, I'm usually the quiet one who sits back and observes everyone else. And mostly, I love to smile, laugh, and have fun with friends.

My Interests

Things that make me happy: a good book, hot chocolate with marshmellows, wind rustling the leaves on trees, a smile from a stranger, a beautiful day, a rainy day, flowers, making snowmen, a baby's giggle, walking barefoot through mud, a kind word from someone, working in my garden, laying on the grass and watching the clouds, big fluffy snowflakes, holding hands, splashing in puddles, the color of trees in autumn, passionate and beautiful music, homemade jam, stargazing, the words "I love you", road trips, art galleries, playing in the rain, sunlight filtering through leaves on trees, snowball fights, fresh squeezed lemonade, feeling the sun on my face

Music:

There is seriously too much to name. I love punk and opera and everything in between. I'm a collector of weird/unusual/psycho music, love indie bands, and prefer to listen to things that most people don't or have never heard of. A few of my all-time favorites: Majandra Delfino, Trespassers William, Eighteen Visions, Rachel Yamagata, Dresden Dolls, BoySetsFire, Strung Out, Susie Suh, The Postal Service, Sum41, Green Day, Fiona Apple, Him, Brand New, Ani DiFranco, Iron & Wine, Jem, Snow Patrol, Muse, Mazzy Star, Flaw, Heather Combs.....

Movies:

Favorites: The Hours, Garden State, Home Fries...I'm easily entertained, so I like most movies.

Books:

I don't have much time for reading anymore, but "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath and "The Hours" by Michael Cunningham are two of my all time favorites. I'll read anything by Gerald Lund, I love poetry compilations (especially Anne Sexton's work), and anything having to do with history.

Heroes:

"Close your eyes and see. Take a breath and believe." My heroes are the people I can believe in, who stand for something; my parents, my brothers and sisters...and in a way, me. I've learned I have to believe in myself before anyone else will believe in me. I've been through hell and back, and I made it through in one piece. In my book, that's what a hero is....
