About Me

My goal is simple. It is the complete understanding of the Universe.

THE ARCH RIVAL ROLLER GIRLS!!!

My Interests

FIRST AND FOREMOST, my dynamically talented and hyperintelligent 15-year-old son, Atom. Then.......Roller Derby!...Science, evolution, genetics, neurology, atheistic philosophy, cosmology, information technology, media production, egalitarian feminism, religion masquerading as science (‘Creation Science’ is an oxymoron) and the absurdity of the disastrous attempt by the religious right to underwrite this country's social structure with christian mores; the perception of beauty, natural selection, the nature vs. nurture debate (and ramifications of varied syntheses re same), and lots and lots of MUSIC. I have always had and still have a passion for punk rock music and ideology. I am an old-schooler who appreciates the progress of the scene but still never forgets her roots.
My alter ego is Demonicka Pocalypse, #666 of the Arch Rival Roller Girls, St. Louis. ARRG'S SECOND SEASON IS UNDERWAY!!! THE SMASHINISTAS TAKE ON THE M80s OCTOBER 27th!
I adore my derby sisters - I have never met a more awesome group of intelligent, creative, talented, beautiful, strong, independent women such as these. When put together, we are a powerful force to be reckoned with indeed.

I'd like to meet:

Other geeks like me who feel like a dolphin in a goldfish pond. DO NOT want to meet anyone looking for a relationship, a good time, or a cute girl...or anyone religious, republican, racist, homophobic, patriarchal, uninformed, or "into partying". So don't bother asking me to add you if you are on a quest for chicks to slap up on your space; I WILL DENY YOU.
I created this space mainly to shamelessly plug the Arch Rival Roller Girls, our St. Louis All-Girl Flat-Track Roller Derby League. However, I love intelligent freethinking people and anybody who is strong enough not to give a damn what anyone else thinks of them.

Books:

Mostly nonfiction re the natural sciences, religion, philosophy, sociology, cosmology, the black arts and the occult, audio & media production/engineering, and biographies. I enjoy scientific periodicals and those dedicated to CFIDS & medical research re same. Also a lot of advocacy and investigative literature, usually left-wing oriented. I enjoy fiction in the form of tales of a negative Utopia (i.e., Bradbury, Orwell, etc.) but I also like tongue-in-cheek intellectual humorists such as Vonnegut. Occasionally I'll dip into a good cheesy horror book by Stephen King just for the hell of it. Oh and I am addicted to crossword puzzles.
