I Wanna Be Sedated...

About Me

"Nothing is forbidden. Everything is permitted."THE SPIEL: So, what's been going? Moved out for the first time. I am now going to be fucking poor, gotta start saving... Desperate to get a label started up, specialising in split 7" runs of between 100 and 1000. I want these babies to be special... perhaps screen printed covers, hand numbered, possibly coloured wax too. Just need to cost the lot and establish a distribution network (a subscription through a mag like Bad Acid would be ideal!). Just gotta start up a fresh myspace page for it. Fuzzy Wuzzy Records is the name I'm throwing about. If the 7" runs go ok, then I'll branch out into 12" LPs... There are a few bands interested in this (some fairly well known bands I might add). I'm looking to November/December for this to kick off. If you're interested in this idea, give me a shout, give me advice, I'm gonna be paying for the fucking thing! Peace out & much luv, Nick The Lick xPS Can I join someones band please? I can't sing or play guitar, so my credentials are great!THE DEAL:I HATE HAVING TO FUCK AROUND WITH THIS HTML CODE SHIT! My name's Nicholas - as in Saint Nicholas! Though my friends would totally disagree with that due to my love of substances... and I've won the unofficial 'Friend most likely to die before 30' contest for several years in a row. Update: Looks like I lost the contest. One of my friend's beat me to it. Seeya in the future sometime, mate.I was meant to be born on Christmas day but I loved the womb so much that I stayed there for just over a week longer before checking out... I toke, I pop, I snort and I have been known to spike... On a different note...I love going to gigs all the time and meeting the musicians (I usually corner them and ask about their music - scared a few people off in my time! I can't help it; it's just such a buzz watching peeps playing (great) music that I have to know how they write a song or something like that. Some people have a name for this -hanger-on (or a journalist, for that matter) but I try not to smother people in idol/idle fascination... =O)I go to gigs all around the UK, The Slaughtered Lamb in London being the favoured destination (sofas and cushions in a venue? YES!) but I'll go anywhere if I have to (if I can make it!).I love buying music (I'm a sucker for limited editions and boxsets), I suppose I'm approaching 2700+ cds covering a very wide range of styles but mainly it's based on rock music. The bands I count among my favourites are; David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Earthlings?, Truly, Screaming Trees, Kyuss, Iggy Pop, Bjork, PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, Kate Bush... they're always changing but I listen to these particular bands A LOT! See the list, it mentions just under HALF of the bands in my collection... Basically, music is pretty much all I care about... ..

Music:

This is my ever-changing jukebox, well, I change it every month or so. Sometimes it's themed, sometimes not. Sometimes it's playing vintage folk, maybe 60's psychedelia, maybe 70's space/prog rock. Sometimes it's playing vintage 70's/80's electro, maybe 90's rave and club mixes. It is ever-changing and I can change it at a whim to whatever takes my fancy - though I DO take requests! Please enjoy, as I know some of you, well, a few of you... Ok, TWO of you... do!
----------------------------------------Well, these four little ditties here are mine. Improvised and recorded straight to tape when I was beginning to learn how to play a guitar and my friend was beginning to learn drums. I/We recorded at least ten individual jams and totted up at least two and a half hours of bizarre-random-jazzy-acoustic-stoner-rock musical meanderings. The four tracks I have put here are the ones I'm least embarrassed about!
GOD, I LOVE these women!!! The sexy, sultry and sassy PJ Harvey. The cute elfin Bjork. Led fucking Zeppelin

So, they're getting back together for a few gigs... big fucking deal. Perhaps if they weren't selling tickets for £125 I might be interested... Surely tickets shouldn't be anymore than £50 at the tops...
