About Me

My name is Sharon. I have 3 almost grown up children.
I work in a complaints department - bloody marvellous. Still it keeps the wolf from the door and pays the mortgage.
I own one car, one piano (but I don't have custody yet)and little else at the mo. I live in a terraced house with no garden (yippee!).
I was married but I'm in the process of becoming unmarried. It's one of those long-story stories. I do have a great boyfriend (for want of a better word) and I feel really lucky that I actually met him.
I love coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon. I prefer tea when I have left the teabag in the cup and forgotten about it for hours, then I squeeze the bag and warm it up in a microwave! Tea is not drinkable unless it can remove tarnish from brass!
(That's enough for now - Ed.)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

It would be a privilege to be arrested by Sheriff John Bunnell of the steely grey hair and orange skin. I would prefer not to be arrested for drink driving or anything dangerous but a lesser offence would be fine.
I love to meet Dave Vanian (still gorgeous lead singer of the Damned) because it would make my big sister jealous.
I got to meet loads of great people during 2006 and also got to talk to Jock and Dave from the Straps for the first time for 25 years last year. That was damn good!
Anybody else? There are still loads but too many are dead now - my grandads, Dirk Bogarde, Oscar Schindler (I would love to know why he did what he did at such great personal risk. He is one of my true heroes).

Music:

First and foremost Punk
The Straps (one of my first great loves)

My Blog

The Straps, an under-rated punk band

Sometimes, I think too much. Usually when I'm on my own for more than five minutes and my mind starts racing. Then I can get through thoughts faster than an average Texan can get through hamburgers. W...

Read and Weep Part 2

I posted yesterday's blog in the short time I had before leaving for work and I don't think I did my subject full justice.I said that in nearly 21 years of being a copper, my husband has sustained no ...

I was just adding a few more interesting blogs on another of my blogsites and I have just read three of the most depressing blogs ever. All on the same subject. They can be found in Police Inspector B...

24 Hours

My own, personal, 24 hours is nearly at an end now. I should take pains to point out that at no point during this narrative was the world as we know it in any danger and I look absolutely nothing...

Celebrity Big Brother

Well, I have to admit it but I cried while watching last night's Celebrity Big Brother. I know I'm a soft sod but it was appalling. The tears were partly anger: I'm furious at Jade Goody. They were al...

Judicial killing

I'm not generally outspoken but something happened on 30 December 2006 that I find so abhorrent that I've decided to stand up and be counted. I am, of course, speaking about the judicial killing of Sa...

What if?

I have a problem with stories. I never know where to start them. I mean, do I start when I made the decision not to be a punk anymore? What about when that woman came over and starting speaking to me ...
