Two new tracks come to the page and both are a slight departure in that they are featuring acoustic guitars. "The Move Up" is an ode to folk, Irish folk, and the acoustic grunge songs that Patrick and Seamus are such big fans of. The lyrics lament the suburbanization and subsequent yuppization of once rural areas outside of major cities throughout the US. "In the Court of King Henry VIII" is a tour de force ballad that showcases the band's progressive interests and knack for relevant modulation in pop music. The Cause is guitarist/singer Patrick, bassist Seamus Brophy, and drummer, Eli Lamb.Patrick’s song writing and guitar playing intertwine to give audiences virtuoso musicianship while keeping them locked on to the emotional focal point of the song. He sings with emotion; songs of love, estrangement, loneliness and hopefulness, putting the emphasis of his work on idealism and interpretations of the natural world.Seamus Brophy's style is one that can make a polished song out of complex rhythms and infatuated percussion. Composed in his improvisation, Brophy is what makes The Cause sound like much more than a power trio.Eli Lamb joins The Cause in August of 2007 after the departure of Jesse Guglielmo. Lamb has a classic rock style and has played in outfits all over New York City. Lamb is an NYC native and Bronx Science alumni. The Cause’s fusion of Classic Rock, Blues, Grunge, Jam Rock, and Post Modern Bohemian Pop, and their ability to take those genres on in their pure form is what makes them so unique in today’s singular musical world.
