Ok, who am I? I study Mechanical Engineering at Bath University, I have just completed my second year of study, and am starting work for a Watford based company Building Research Establishment for a 12 month industrial placement as part of my course.I'm from New Zealand , play some sport, lots of music, organise gigs, go to festivals, travel about, attempt to draw/sculpt/photograph, dance like a lunatic on nights out.
When not in Bath, i'm in Edinburgh in Scotland. It's kinda hard to sum yourself up in a few words, to people with so many different view point in life, if you want to know more just ask.Main focus in life is the environment. It's why i'm on my course: renewable energy, Sustainable Development, conservationism, Hydrogen Economy etc...
I try not to take life too seriously, but enough to make a stand when somethings out of order.I am introspective but outwardly focused, I think Empathy is an essential skill in life. I think of everything and almost anything, I can end up laying in bed till stupid hours unable to stop my mind racing, ideas and inspiration don't really care for working hours- i can get very bad insomnia...
I can sometimes be very affectionate, when i feel i can show it, however I am also very reserved with some aspects of myself, and my thoughts... and slow to trust. I try to respect everyone for who they are, and what they like, and have a sense of compassion for everyone. This also means i care deeply for my friends, and family and if anyone fucks with them i give them alot of shit. Well, i might try being a diplomat at first, if that fails, I unleash hell on the fuckers...This year I am trying to sort myself out a bit more, hedonism, socialising, smoking, partying, sleeping, sex and general mayhem had taken its toll on my studies and moneys, so *fingers crossed* i can do it all again but get the work done too...Most of my friends are students, or have dropped out/graduated already. They party pretty hard, and between us have amassed rediculous debt.. but had legendary parties, nights out and times. Have met some of the best people i could hope to since my gap year and at Bath University, just hoping that time wont see us drift apart.If I werent doing the degree im doing, in some hopeless attempt to save the planet from ourselves.. I'd love to study in an arts college, or do Politics Philosophy and Economics, or Psychology, or a million and one other things that i cant fit into the hours of each day. I have a passion for music, photography, painting/drawing and sculpture in particular. I have a portfolio full of life drawings from a couple of years back, and hope to get far more involved in these things once more.
I have a profile on DeviantArt as well, link below.. with what art ive managed to upload so far and the occasional rant XD.Throughout my life, my main goal has just been to help people, make a differance of somekind, in a positive fashion, to as many lives as i can, and this world. Working for the UN, an NGO (VSA, VSO, EWB, Friends of the Earth...) or for the NZ government would be a dream.I have a very dark, and twisted sense of humour. Some people dont really get why I find some things funny... but a sense of humour is really important to me, and reflects many things about a person. The ability to not take life too seriously, and have a laugh and a good time... the alternative is to feel down about it all, tried it myself and thats no fun.
I love tattoos, i design my own. Body art and modification is a growing interest of mine. I have 5 more tattoos that im working on, a large one for my back, small neck, small hips, medium upperleft arm, circlet upper right arm.
I also plan on getting several piercings when money, study and work allow- lip, eyebrow, tongue, right nipple..possibly more.. i dont want to end up looking like a painted pin cushion tho....One last thing. as a character, i am made of a strange shifting balance of drives and perspectives rolled into one.

I am hugely ambitious and driven, but procrastinate compulsively and am lazy...
I love sleep but im an insomniac
i have great compassion and faith in humanity, but loath so much about us...
I think we are all made up of many, apparently contradictory drives and impulses, we just have to try and keep a balanced perspective, and maintain our integrity . try not to fall too deeply into disillusionment, and retain some compassion DESPITE all the shit in this world. Do not underestimate the good too...
