About Me

MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator Geronimo was born in Laredo, Texas and graduated from Texas A & M University with a degree in physical education. He decided to not pursue a career in coaching in order to concentrate more on music. He first was exposed to music listening to his dad and uncles sing at family gatherings at their ranch in south Texas. These influences were instrumental in his producing a tribute album titled Conjunto con Padres that was released in 1999. The album made the first entry level for best Tejano album in the 43rd Grammy Awards. Geronimo and his band have opened shows for country music legends Ray Price, Willie Nelson and Ronnie Milsap in addition to other fine Texas artists such as Augie Meyers, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Flaco Jimenez, Robert Earl Keen and Gary P. Nunn. His band was the first to play The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. He has been a consultant for National Public Radio on a feature about Texas Dance Halls and is a board member for the New Braunfels Museum of Art that will focus on preserving Texas music. With his publishing company, recordings, live performances and a book on Texas Dance Halls, he remains an active participant in the music industry.

A Collection of Dance Hall Classics available on CD
This CD Compilation is representative of the artists and Musicians who made their mark playing the Texas Dance Hall Circuit. The Project was organized by the New Braunfels Museum of Art & Music in conjunction with Geronimo Trevino III whose book, "Dance Halls and Last Calls," provided both the inspiration and the historical research necessary to bring the project to fruition. A wonderful collection of legendary artists like Lefty Frizzell, Johnny Cash, Bob Wills and Floyd Tillman and a newer generation of Texas artists like Pat Green and Pauline Reese provide the signposts for a unique musical journey through the dance halls of Texas; a timeless adventure that makes you feel like you're standing on a sawdust dance floor, eagerly waiting for the next song to begin.
