BlogLondon born singer-songwriter Chrissy van Dyke has had a wildly varied musical career. Raised on an incongruous mix of opera and psychedelia, she began by teaching herself every instrument available. Eventually settling mostly on guitar and piano, she was writing songs by her early teens and managed to get expelled from school at 15 during an over-zealous live performance. Her style evolved from her first blues band as an 18 year old, where she joined as the keyboard player and became the lead singer/guitarist almost overnight, to the more recent critically acclaimed drum 'n' bass/jazz stylings of Plutonik. Wandering through everything from Steel Band in West London to bluegrass in Tennessee, her performances have taken her across the globe and through many genres, playing everywhere from Ronnie Scotts to the Essential Festival and winning a U-Music award on MTV.Currently residing in Birmingham, UK, she recently decided to feed her insatiable musical appetite and return to the stage via her acoustic roots. Once again taking stages by storm, Chrissy will be heading in to the studio in the very near future to harness the power of her writing in a new album. Stay tuned! This is one of Chrissy's alteregos playing Big Love by Fleetwood MacHere's a live video of Consider You Gone recorded last year...
