Hello! My name is Matthew Halley and I'm a field biologist, musician, songwriter, naturalist and piano teacher!
I love to watch birds and study their behavior - this passion has taken me all across the world, to work on some very exciting research projects (Panama, USA, Israel, Venezuela). I am particularly interested in how sexual selection processes shape communicative behavior and morphology in birds. I am currently studying incubation behavior in the Brewer's Sparrow (a population in northwest Nevada) and examining the temporal sequence of the dawn- and dusk-choruses from a site in the Venezuelan Llanos.
