I've never known a life without music.
There have been venues over the years, with various people come through my life. I've been blessed to sit with some really fine players. Most of the folks I could always call on when I want to mess around. Bill Ritzman who plays accordion on Heartaches has been a friend for over 30 years, and a damn fine musician! Learning, growing, always working at his craft.
Songs come to me, phrases, words, ideas and then it's a matter of getting them down and working on making them work. There was a time when I feared I'd never write my own song, and a wonderful musician friend insisted that the truth was to the contrary. He was right. I like to write. And do - and have a nice small catalogue - though time to time means ebb and flow. A song usually comes along when it's time to grow. Swelling, seams burst and overflow.
Lately my concentration has been in the Healing Arts, placing specially calibrated tuning forks on meridians and chakras and singing into bodies, therapeutic massage, breathwork practices.
I do enjoy and appreciate an audience. I'll keep this site up to date in regards to where I will be.
Here's a little ditty I wrote a long time ago, it seems now, a long time.
If I hurry to the berries. prick my fingers on the bush
make a trail of blood into the hills, or wash them in the brook
will you find me by the sweetness
of the berries that I took?
