At an early age I can remember hearing sounds. What made these sounds different from other sounds was their ability to make my heart race with excitement. This was the sound of music. I am child number 5 of 7 to Myrtle and Eugene ‘Canary’ Henry. Growing up, my friends thought having 6 siblings must have been too many to deal with, but my parents knew what they were doing. They were making 7 part harmony. As a family music has been as important as having food on the table every night, so living under Canary’s roof meant there were always beautiful sounds to feed my habit. I had to be a part of it. My father allowed me to join him in the studio to record background vocals for his album…that was it…I was hooked. 20 years later and I am still doing what is most natural to me, making music. With experiences such as touring Canada singing background vocals for Divine Brown and opening an 8 city tour for Bryan Adams, touring and singing background vocals for Jacksoul, attending and performing at the Canadian Urban Music Awards, performing live for an international audience of millions at the Juno awards, performing live on Canada AM with both Divine Brown and Jacksoul, performing at the Canadian Walk of Fame, Fashion Cares and Donovan Bailey’s Celebrity Roast to name a few….this is only the beginning. I continue to feed my soul by writing my own music, and it is my goal to master my craft and be able to shine front and center. Here I am.
