.................................................Every so often a dancehall Star is born, well in this case it would be stars. FAME FAMILY (Di Ghetto Definition) a group formed in late 2005, by four youths from out of the slums of Kingston, Jamaica has been gaining recognition in Toronto since 2006. Fame Family became musically united in Toronto, Canada. The term “Di Ghetto Definition†was created because of the group members emerging from Papine, Standpipe, WaterHouse, and Waterford, and also because their basically a product of the ghetto Fame Family a dancehall group with a new sensation, is BRACING themselves into the dancehall scene with the capability of rapidly making addictive songs and their creative and melodic lyrics. Fame Family is prognosticating to imprint a monumental mark in Toronto’s already volatile Dancehall fraternity, by using their distinctive lyrics, catchy phrases, vibrant performances, newness and originality to capture the eyes and ears of their audiences. Initially, Fame Family was a group consisted of four members the manager/advisor Horatio Rankine, Advance (deejay), Tizzy (deejay) and Popz the singer. In the summer of 2006, Fame Family recorded their first group demo with Nitro Da CD Sound and started distributing their rough Demos in the Jane and Finch community where they were already prominent for their energetic performances at local After Hours Dances. After Fame Family had started to receive a lot of buzz with tracks on the Demo such as, “Roll Out†“Dat Mi a Seh†“Murda†“J.A to the T.DOT†and “Hand to Mouthâ€. In 2006, Fame Family was also featured in the June issue of YOUR WORD magazine, which gave them a lot more recognition within Toronto and the GTA. This made them optimistic towards their future spot in dancehall, but unfortunately Fame Family would receive an unexpected blow, after learning that the singer Popz had decided to focus more on his career as a soccer player, a sport which he was also very gifted in as well. Fame Family was now reduced to the manager Horatio Rankine and two deejays Advance and Tizzy. Even though the group had been reduced, Fame Family was still relentless and seems to have gotten even stronger, which lead to a lot of underground tracks such “Call Away†“Drop it Like, Its Hot†“Certain Tingz†“ Plan fi Mek Money†“Wheel Off†and “10 Gunz inna mi Stash†featuring D’nme. Fame Family has been gaining recognition for their BLUNT and additive lyrics, and their vibrant performances throughout the Toronto and neighboring cities. Fame Family has opened shows for some of dancehall’s veteran artists such as, Beenie Man, Luciano, Delly Ranks, Lexxus, and Sultex 3000 just to name a few.. Now with a lot more in store, Fame Family has recorded a new single titled “Ez man a Ez†with Selecta/Producer Rebel Tone on his new “SLR†riddim, who features Artists such as New Kidz, Predator, just to name a few , which will be featured on Rebel Tone’s upcoming Mix CD. Fame Family is also about to record a NEW single on the “Dirty Harry†riddim produced by Lyrics, on the Phenomenal Youths Record Label. Fame Family has already worked with numerous amounts of artists/promoters/producers/selectas within Toronto, names such as Ras Jockey Production, Rebel Production, Vibrant Promotions, DunDem Music, Mystic Sound, Soul Vibes, Body Rock, Edge Aka Melchezidek, Madd Mobb Ent, GT, Ron Nelson, Terminata Crew, Sleelie Bashment, Eclispe, Nitro Da CD Sound, Michael Jaz, Dario Jackson, Fusion Radio, Jahnny Knumonic, Hype Radio ( New York), CKLN, D’nme, Serious Bad Boy, JCRapper ( R I P ), Lyrics, and Bizmo.
