Black Cherry

Paul Black was the Original Member of some of the most famous names in rock today Faster Pussycat, La Guns, The Joneses, The Mau Maus. Paul was a big part of the whole begining of the Rock and Roll explosion that happened in Hollywood in the 80s and 90s. The members of these bands went back and forth untill everyone fell into place. Paul was a drummer for several bands then a vocalist for BLACK CHERRY. David Walsh (now with the Exies) was the Guitar player, Bassist Mike stevens came from Dirty Blond. He and Drummer Scott lips were an awsome rhythm section. Curtis Grant was added when original rhythm player Josh Blake left the band. Josh went on to form the Gutter Cats but still filled in for Black Chrerry tours when David could not travel. Curtis Came from San Francisco he was in a popular Northern California band (Touch me Hooker). Black Cherry did things a lot of signed acts could not pull off in those days like playing headlining gigs at the Palace and having the record for attendance at huge clubs like Exposuer 54. They were one of the few bands that Ricki Rachman of Cat House and MTV fame always invited to play for his awsome new years eve parties. One memorable one was Guns and Roses, Danzig, Suicidal, Tendencies , Black Cherry at Madame Wongs. The place was so packed you couldn't breath.
