Having a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering and often writing music that is indeed intellectually stimulating, Ti1 is aiding positive social trends in British Urban music, not being afraid to mix entertainment with having something substantial to say and attacking the stigma on the streets that smart equals weak."I like to call it edutainment! As well as making fresh and entertaining tracks, I try to make music that basically makes you think about something, be it a social issue or issues we all face as people in life. That's the kind of music that people relate to and rememeber. People ask me what Ti1 stands for and I tell 'em 'The Intellectual 1'. I'm not boasting or anything, and confidence should not be confused with arrogance. My MC name was given to me, I didn't pick it, thats why it fits me so well! Some people rap about how many people they've killed, or how they'll beat you up if you look at them the wrong way. That doesn't interest me. If Im gonna show off, its to do with my rap skills, or to do with my intellect. That's my choice."Slowly but surely Ti1's name has begun to be recognised, aided by videos on Channel U, nationwide radio play and regular performances on London's open mic circuit. His highly accessible style and rhyming topics make him a hit with lovers of hip-hop and those who don't usually listen to hip-hop as well.
