James DePrato

Since moving to the Bay area in 1999, James DePrato has become a first-call guitar player/multi-instrumentalist/session musician, and composer.James, age 27, first played on a major label release at age 13 for Marc Bonilla's "American Matador" (Warner/Reprise). He has since played on recordings with his heroes Warren Haynes, Ronnie Montrose, Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Mike Kineally (Frank Zappa), and Troy Lucketta (Tesla), to name a few.Striving to "keep the momentum", James keeps a full calendar of shows every month which cover a full range of styles. "In my heart, I'm a southern rock musician, but I like to think I can lie my way through anything". In 2005, James was asked to play on a heavy metal/hardcore record (James is a closet metal head). DePrato currently plays for several Alt. country/Americana singer songwriters who require him to play slide, steel, and baritone guitar, and even some mandolin.James also fronts his own band simply called "James DePrato".In 2006, DePrato composed and produced an original soundtrack for the award winning documentary film " 'Pray For Me', The Jason Jessee Movie" (www.jasonjesseemovie.com) which premiered at the 2007 X-Dance Film Festival in Park City, UT.DePrato feels very fortunate to have shared the stage with the likes of Narada Michael Walden, Pat Monahan, Terry Haggerty, Bonnie Raitt, Ike Willis, Bernie Worrell, Phil Lesh , David Letterman, Carson Daly, and many more.James' goals for 2007 include touring with a signed act, producing and shopping a full length record with his own band, and making time to practice.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
