E Spirit's website, www.nativeprogress.org, lists the current temperature on Pine Ridge Reservation via a accuweather.com window. It was zero degress farenheit, 32 degress below freezing this morning! Pine Ridge Reservation is the poorest community in the United States with 40,000 residents and a median annual family income of below $4,000.ONE Spirit also lists one of its most needs on its website - Fuel for Heat: It has been a cold winter in South Dakota and many Lakota elders and families on Pine Ridge Reservation are without heat. An 80 year old man wraps himself in a jacket and blanket, and a 60 year old woman with diabetes and a heart condition tries vainly to light wet, green wood. You can help ONE Spirit provide them with fuel for heat.100% of the money spent on this 6 inch diameter American Indian Movement Remember Wounded Knee patch will be used in ONE Spirit's Fuel Assistance Program. Shipping is free, every penny spent is used to provide heat for Lakota families.Just go to eBay.com and search "American Indian Movement Wounded Knee Patch", purchase this patch and have a most needed on our Lakota brothers and sisters.
The tribe presently has no funds for fuel and the temperature is below freezing every night. The Lakota Veterans on the Reservation are paid for cutting, hauling, and delivering wood to the elders. They are proud that they can help their people. Meantime, contributions support the Vets, provide firewood for the elders, and the cost of the wood is 1/2 the standard price for a cord. Certainly a winning situation for all.

Kaleb Mason Keith
Hi my name is Kaleb Mason Keith. I turned 11 on January 10th . I am a very sick little boy. Right now I am with my mom staying at a friends house up in Ambler Pennsylvania while I wait for surgery on February 26th at the Shriners Hospital here in Philadelphia for my scoliosis.
But my surgery won’t cure me, just help me live a little longer. As I have several conditions. I was born a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy, my lungs don’t work right so I am on continuous oxygen, I am blind, I have an epileptic disorder, and I need a wheel chair to get around.
I like Pennsylvania, but it is not home, and mom says we need several things to make her friends house more accessible for me. In fact things for me cost a lot and my mommy stretches things out as best as she can, but life for me is expensive.
We need several things to help me until my surgery and even more things once I can come back home. Things I need to survive ----
Oxygen ----
Diapers ----
food ----
clothes ----
extras ----
A temporary wheel chair ramp, where I am staying at in Pennsylvania ----
Transportation (a handicap wheel chair van) ----
And many more things just to get by daily.
If you could PLEASE help out my mommy, you could send a donation to:===============================================
