About Me

My name is Grandmaster Gareth. I chose this name to increase my hip-hop credibility. It hasn't worked. I write Minute Melodies. I am also the singer and songwriter in Misty's Big Adventure. My first album was released on Awkward Records in early 2003 called 'An Introduction to Minute Melodies'. Instead of disapearing into total obscurity, the mighty John Peel liked it and played 20 different tracks off it and let me do a Peel Session called 'Monster Melody'. My minute 'Dr Dre Buys a Pint of Milk' got to number 45 in the 2003 Festive Fifty. Since then Misty's have kept me pretty busy. We have put out two albums 'The Solar Hi-Fi System' and 'The Black Hole', and played all over Britain and Germany. We've toured with The Magic Numbers and The Zutons and baffled half the audience, and at Glastonbury 2005, The Zutons got me to play theremin with them on the main stage. A very surreal experience! I have a new album of Minute Melodies coming out in 2006 called 'The Party Sounds of Grandmaster Gareth' on SL Records. MISTY'S BIG ADVENTURE's myspace page is............... www.myspace.com/mistysbigadventure for gigs, songs and pictures.
