About Me

The Waiting Game are an alternative rock fourpiece, based in Hackney, North London. The band took off somewhere in 2002 when Sam (Guitar/Voice) met Clint (Bass) through a mutual interest in Japanese pop culture, and reluctantly turned up to a rehearsal with Az (Drums). After a long period of time including numerous awful covers, audibly debauched home recording, minor fallouts and bad name-changes, the band recruited George (Guitar), and began focusing on original material leading up to playing a big handful of shows across England, and earning a cosy following. The distinctive, tight, honest TWG sound, both live and on recording, has been previously described as raw, heavy and intense, but also melodic, moving and intricate. These elements are what set aside TWG from a lot of the current bands in the mainstream, and earn comparisons to edgy bands such as Rival Schools, At the Drive-In, Hot Water Music and Reuben.
