Cibo's new sonic landscapes performed last weekend @ Merce Cunningham in New York City.
Last Sunday, was the closing night of a very amazing 2008 Spring season performances of the Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble. The repertoire included three sonic landscapes created by Cibo for his second collaboration with the company. "Adrenaline & Gravity" and "Who Hit and Run the Opera Singer" where Cibo's contributions for the re-construction of "Souffle D' Air", a choreography of Samantha Geracht, inspired by the prolific work of the american artist Alexander Calder.
For Jim May's new dance duet tittled, "Covered Covenant", Cibo's contribution was a work in progress called "Unidentified Love", this piece pocess a very strong Middle Eastern vibe.

Cibo back in the studio this coming week
The last six weeks where focused on the Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble
Spring season.
The end of the STDE season, became also the end of Cibo's main computer
at his musikaSimple studios just on time to delivery the masters.
Now, Cibo took few days to upgraded his studio with a brand new 8 core Mac Pro and other important technological additions necessary to meet the requirements and diversity, not only of the works in progress, but the new productions scheduled for the rest of the year.
On the works:
"The Return of a Man", a project with his partner, singer songwriter and producer Zan Aquart.
Work in progress of a collaboration with the amazing Israeli ethnic singer, Talya G.A.Solan.
A new collaboration with choreographer Samantha Geracht.
Work in progress of a piece for talented Italian actress, director and producer Lucia Falco and her Teatro in Rivolta.
Work in progress of Cibo's album "music for a blue collar dancer y los otros"
Cibo is about to confirm his possible collaboration to score a major production staged on ice...
“Malambo Canchero,â€
a composition evoking the sounds and textures of South America, was Cibo’s first piece for the Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble. Now his sonic landscapes travel through the fascinating world of Alexander Calder as Cibo creates works for Samantha Geracht’s choreographic reconstruction of her early piece “Agitations of the Windâ€, a tribute to the American artist’s body of work. “Adrenaline & Gravity†and “Who Hit and Run the Opera Singer?†had the “pulse/space/air/dynamics†that can be found in Calder’s body of work. Other projects Cibo is currently working on are: a piece dedicated to Italian director/producer Lucia Falco; “The Return of a Man†project; and the long overdue album, “Music for a Blue Collar Dancer y Los Otros….â€

Cibo Fernandez has a tremendous respect and admiration
for the work of visual artist Cliff Tisdell. "The Wreck", one
of the pieces that had touched Cibo profoundly, was created
by Cliff Tisdell few year ago. Cliff's intensity had triggered in
Cibo the idea or the concept of "fusion".
Cliff's pieces have their own life - they contain history,
passion, struggles, compassion, social ugliness, beauty and
more.
Cibo thought about sonic elements from the "insigh-out".
Cliff Tisdell and Cibo Fernandez are talking about a possible
collaboration.
The conclusion of few brainstorming meetings reveal that.
Something is about to happen.
