"The Alternative"

About Me

Born Brian Glover, March 9, 1973 in Houston, Texas.
Hobeaux's love of music was first inspired by Gospel roots in the family, particularly, his mother and grandparents that sung in the church choir.
From his brother's Rock & Roll, his dad's Jazz along with all the Soul 12 inch records played at the house parties, to his mom's many Gospel albums, a variety of music was always "amplified" in the house which led him to appreciate all forms and styles. Slapping beats on the school lunch tables and learning how to play drums in the 6th grade honed Hobeaux's innate talent of working rhythms.
Past being recognized for his dancing at various home clubs, Hobeaux quickly gained popularity on
Prairie View A&M's underground scene in 92. He was known for participating in many schoolyard freestyle sessions which led him to be the first MC to win first place in Prairie View's Springfest competition in 1993. Being a loved member in Houston's HipHop culture, Hobeaux has always been supportive of a variety of local artist( rappers, djs, poets, singers, song writers, ministers of music, grafitti artist, and producers).
Since Hobeaux was put to death, currently, H.NEWMAN is in the process of completing his solo effort,
"Life 4A Nickel" along with spreading some good spoken word. This motivational cd will be his autobiography, his direct opinion of the state of HipHop culture(from a Southern brother's point of view), and will show his range of capabilities as a lyricist.
When asked about his rap style, H.Newman responds, "I always try to exude reality in my musical expressions. I'm quick to show the humor of life. The world has enough fantasy. I have been working on my dream for many years. My ultimate goal is for street ministry, community developement in all forms possible, and creating a center where folks can get guided to a number of professions that they can put their heart into. A lot of folks don't know what they want to be until something is presented to them that fits what they like doing or naturally able to do. It makes no sense with all these people getting college degrees/industry experience and not sharing knowlege in return especially when they get out and have no job ready. The community will always be "that job". The youngstas outside don't know nothing about God, the contributions of their people, or real life in general. I want to be used to bring life to them as an alternative to the poison they listen to and see everyday. "
Thoughts of the day:
RAPPERS, WOULD YOU PLEASE TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THAT REAL PEOPLE CAN RELATE TO BESIDES ALL THE STUFF THAT YOU'RE RENTING or SOLD YOUR SOUL TO GET, ALL THE DRUGS YOU'VE SOLD WHICH KEEPS THE FBI ON YOU 4 LIFE, AND ALL THESE VAIN FANTASIES YOU HAVE WHICH NO ONE CARES ABOUT?
PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW YOU.
IN OTHER WORDS, DO YOU HAVE SKILLS AND WHAT ARE YOU BRINGING TO BENEFIT THIS CULTURE?
YOUR LACK OF ORIGINALITY IS SICKENING.
YOUR IGNORANCE IS DEMOTING THE THOUGHT OF EDUCATION ALONG WITH SELF WORTH AND BECAUSE OF THIS, WE HAVE TO "DUMB DOWN" LYRICS WHICH MAKES RHYMING BORING AND NO CHALLENGE.
WHY LIE? YOU CANT MURDER EVERYBODY AND YOU CANT SEX EVERYBODY. HEARING THIS ALL DAY IS GROSSLY KILLING OFF ALL RACES IN EVERY ASPECT AND for those this applies to, YOU also APPEAR TO BE A BUNCH OF INSECURE PUNKS BY INSULTING FOLKS THAT DONT HAVE WHAT YOU HAVE WHICH PRODUCES A WORLD FULL OF JACKERS THAT GO AROUND TAKING WHAT PEOPLE WORK HARD TO EARN.
KEEP IN MIND YOUR LIFE IS ALSO BEING RECORDED.
WOULD THE REAL MCs PLEASE STAND UP AND BRING BACK REAL HIP-HOP?....Shalom....
