Aaries "Girls Rule"
..
Two little girls that sang Lionel Richie songs around the house with their dad.
For Ayana and Ayinke, growing up in the Baptist church meant beginning to sing at an early age, and before the pursuit of a musical career even entered their minds, the two were already no strangers to gospel or classical music.
The duo’s management team, Mac and Jay (aka/Mama’s Boys), began an intense working relationship with Musiq while working with the girls — so much so that, by the time Musiq released his debut album Aijuswanaseing, AAries had already been touring with him as back-up singers. With their distinctive songbird vocals, AAries were subsequently featured on Musiq’s hit, “Girl Next Door" — a twist of fate that further led to Ayana’s stunning, on-screen cameo appearance in the video version of the song.
That open door led to the duo's subsequent inking of a deal with Atlantic Records. In-house producers— Karma (an acronym for the team Carvin Haggins and Ivan(Orthodox) Barias), who are also managed by Mama’s Boys — have been an integral force in the overall creation of AAries' sound.
Although Aaries has not yet released their debut album, their resume speaks for itself. They have worked with numerous artists such as R&B singer Chris Brown, hip hop producer Kwame, hip hop producer Scott Storch, musical artist/writer Latif, writer/vocalist Tytewriter, producers/songwriters The LabRatz, hip hop artist/producer Skillz, producer/hiphop artist Questlove(Roots Crew), musical producer Jimmy Rose, producers Dre and Vidal, writer/vocalist Harold Lilly, musical artist Joe featuring G-Unit, R&B soul duo Kindred, musician/producer Randy Bowland, hip hop producer Xtreme, legendary producer Mtume, hip hop producer Scyence, gospel producer Richard Smallwood and percussionist/ musical director "DOC."
Aaries music is their own personal musical memoir, that the young women are anxious for the world to hear. The sisters are extremely proud of what they have accomplished so far, and what they plan to accomplish in the future. It's not written in stone, but most likely in the stars...
