As a baby of the 80s, Jacqui grew up listening, singing, and dancing to legends such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, and Melissa Etheridge. She grew up in the entertainment world because her mother is a third generation dance teacher/choreographer. The love for music is in her blood. She started performing at age four and received an award for being a good singer from her preschool. As a child she pursued musical theatre, performing in musicals such as Oliver & Company, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Grease. She has received other awards such as a trophy for "Outstanding Performance" for an R&B routine she sang, danced, and choreographed with five back-up dancers; she was only twelve years old.
She started pursuing rock in high school and fell in love with it; singing lead vocals in a few rock bands. She was voted best dancer by her senior class. She loves to perform and has a natural presence whenever she steps foot on the stage. She has recently done a lot of jazz performances, but is writing more soul and blues music. Her voice is soulful and sultry, but she also has an edge. Her sound is a mixture of blues and soul.
She is currently in college part-time as a Music Industry major, and is trying to support herself by working full-time as the Project Manager at Petrol Records in their LA office. She has been taking private lessons by various vocal coaches since she was nine years old, and has studied voice with Jeffrey Allen, one of the top vocal coaches in Los Angeles, since 2004.
